Under all his action-star antics, Liam Neeson is a good actor. So his insistence on repeatedly playing a variation of the same role is mystifying.. The story loses its convincingly scaled sense of jeopardy in the late going, and it ultimately unravels.. Frankly, Quantum of Solace is just one exasperated dressing down away from being Lethal Weapon 9.. The excellent performances by the cast are also what raise this movie well above your ordinary action movie.. It's not only the strength of the act...
