The script is a mess, built on lazy cliches, stilted jokes and easy payoffs. What the movie does have, though, is enthusiasm.. It persistently tries to drag the audience down to its mindless level.. RocknRolla is a recovery from the knockout blows of his past two films but Ritchie is certainly retreading familiar thematic territory.. The whole thing is played for laughs that almost never come.. Pain & Gain weighs about 700 pounds when it ought to weigh 2.. Pain & Gain brings fun to the multiplex...
